Learn Ayurveda. Understand your body

Wellness becomes more meaningful when you understand what supports your body and why

Our Mission

We believe understanding comes before products

Many wellness brands focus only on selling products.

At DoshaDoc, we believe true wellness starts with awareness and understanding.

Using products without understanding your body, routines or patterns creates temporary solutions.

Our goal is to help people learn Ayurveda in a simple and approachable way so they can make more informed choices for their long-term wellness.

Ayurveda History

What is ayuveda

Over 6,000 years ago, one of India’s greatest sages, Srila Vyasadeva, documented the Vedas for the first time. Revered as Shruti (“that which is heard”), the Vedas were traditionally passed down through an ancient oral teacher-disciple tradition. According to Hindu tradition, these sacred scriptures were revealed to the Rishis mentioned within them rather than written or composed by human beings.

The four primary Vedas are the Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda, and Atharva Veda.

Recognized among the oldest surviving texts in the world, the Vedas contain timeless wisdom across various aspects of life. Ayurveda originated as a branch of the Atharva Veda and is regarded as one of the oldest and most holistic systems of health and wellness known to humanity. Rooted in ancient knowledge of healing, prevention, and longevity, Ayurveda was deeply woven into a spiritual way of life long before it was formally recorded in written texts.

More than a medical system, Ayurveda represents a complete holistic lifestyle that focuses on maintaining harmony between the body, mind, spirit, and nature.

For centuries, Ayurveda often referred to as the “Science of Self-Healing” has remained an integral part of Indian households. Preserved through generations by oral traditions and ancient scriptures, it has evolved far beyond geographical and cultural boundaries. Today, Ayurveda stands proudly as a globally respected symbol of India’s timeless wellness heritage.

The 3 doshas

Vata

Movement • Dryness •Variability

Vata is one of the three primary doshas in Ayurveda and is associated with the elements of air and space. It governs movement within the body, including breathing, circulation, communication, and energy flow. People with a dominant Vata dosha are often creative, energetic, and quick-thinking, but when imbalanced, they may experience dryness, restlessness, anxiety, or irregular routines. Ayurveda focuses on balancing Vata through nourishing foods, grounding practices, proper rest, and a stable lifestyle to support overall harmony and wellbeing.

Pitta

Heat • Intensity • Sensitivity

Pitta is one of the three doshas in Ayurveda and is connected to the elements of fire and water. It represents transformation in the body and governs digestion, metabolism, body temperature, and focus. Individuals with a dominant Pitta dosha are often driven, confident, intelligent, and energetic. When out of balance, Pitta may lead to irritation, overheating, inflammation, or impatience. Ayurveda helps balance Pitta through cooling foods, calming routines, hydration, and mindful lifestyle practices.

Kapha

Stability • Heaviness • Buildup

Kapha is one of the three Ayurvedic doshas and is associated with the elements of earth and water. It provides structure, stability, strength, and nourishment to the body and mind. People with a dominant Kapha dosha are usually calm, grounded, caring, and resilient. However, when imbalanced, Kapha can contribute to sluggishness, heaviness, low energy, or congestion. Ayurveda supports Kapha balance through light foods, regular movement, stimulating activities, and an active daily routine.
